The sun drenched colonial seaside town is both dramatic in setting and diverse in its appeal.  I know we are all disappointed in the violence that happens in many places in Mexico. So far, Puerto Vallarta is safe. I go there every year and feel very safe. Believe me, if I had any qualms about it, I wouldn't go. I keep up on the happenings there, so there are no surprises.             Our hotel, with its beautiful colonial architecture, has one of the best beaches of the tourist area, with everything you need for ocean water sports plus 3 swimming pools. There is also a lovely spa massage area with reasonable prices. It has one of the best breakfast buffets we’ve eve seen and several lovely restaurants in the hotel and close by. Facing an unbelievable blue sea, sunsets are fabulous from this location. The charming downtown has fun restaurants, lots of art galleries and boutiques and a river-front area full of arts and crafts.
